Experience

• Head of Department of Chemotherapy & Stem Cell Biology, Cancer Research Institute, Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, India
• Chairman & Managing Director of India’s first private autologous Umbilical Cord Blood Bank, Cryo Stemcell (Kar) Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore
• Carried out pioneering research on umbilical cord blood haematopoietic stem cells over three decades
• Established India’s first cord blood stem cell bank, approved by the Drug Controller of India in 2002
• Founded the National "Society of Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Engineering", India
• Awarded with ICMR-BGRC Oration Award for pioneering work on Stem Cells
